“I will be Joyful because I have Hope. I will be patient when trouble comes, & pray at all times.” ~ Romans 12:12
Today I began my day reflecting on Overcoming Opposition. As I ponder this thought I am reminded, through my daily devotional, that GOD promises, through HIM we can overcome any opposition the enemy throws our way. We must, however, step out in faith and speak words of Faith and Hope over our lives. When we stay focused, even joyful and full of Hope, no matter what comes against us, we will be able to Overcome any opposition.
I was working from home and decided to catch up on my emails. When I opened my “inbox” and was startled to see I had received a notice from the hospital that my results from the bone scan and eco-gram were in. I could see those results by signing in to my “patient portal”…all this new computerized and modern technology they have now…just blows my mind, I just had these scans done yesterday!
I thought my heart would pound out of my chest as I opened my patient portal to see my results. Did I want to see the results? Did I want to know? As I opened my portal, my anxiety overtaking every inch of my body, I quickly looked to the results column of the report…NORMAL! ALL my scans were NORMAL! I broke down and began to cry! I am NORMAL after all…cancer is NOT going to make me abnormal! It is NOT going to be who I am! I was so excited, happy, relieved, but still anxious all at the same time! All I could do was sit and cry and thank GOD for such wonderful results! “I will be joyful because I have HOPE!” (Romans 12:12) – It’s amazing what a little bit of good news can do for your heart, soul, and mind.
“In quietness & in confidence shall be your strength.” ~ Isaiah 30:15
All that is calm is constructive of good and at the same time, destructive of evil. When we want evil destroyed, we must not rush in & take action…we must be still & acknowledge GOD is GOD and move only when HE tells us. To be calm is to trust in HIS action. We can trust HIM and be peacefully confident that HE will give us the strength to face our difficulties.
These are the things I must remember…Be Still! Be Calm!
No doctor appointments today, so I think I will do just that…Be Still! Be Calm! I will enjoy my good news today…tomorrow I will have a CT Scan done…UGH. Oh well, I’ll catch my breath and go back at it tomorrow.
