14 “The wicked conceive evil; they are pregnant with trouble and give birth to lies. 15 They dig a pit to trap others and then fall into it themselves. 16 They make trouble, but it backfires on them. They plan violence for others, but it falls on their own heads. 17 I will thank the LORD because HE is just; I will sing praise to the name of the LORD MOST HIGH.” ~ Psalm 7:14-17
When allowed to run its course, evil will eventually destroy itself. Violent people become victims of violence, and liars become victims of others’ deceit (9:15-16). Unfortunately, sometimes in the process, innocent people are hurt. Sometimes GOD intervenes and stops evildoers in their tracks in order to protect HIS followers. Other times, for reasons known only to HIM, GOD allows evil to continue even though innocent people are hurt. It is during these times that we must ask GOD to protect us. Remember that GOD will execute final justice, although it may not be on our time line or even during our lifetime.
During a time of great evil and injustice, David was grateful that GOD is just and fair (7:11). When we wonder if anyone is honest or fair, we can be assured that GOD will continue to bring justice and fairness when we involve HIM in our daily activities. When we are feeling like we are being treated unfairly, we can ask the ONE who is always fair and just to be with us. Then, we should thank HIM for HIS presence. – 1 “Look at MY Servant, whom I strengthen. He is MY Chosen One, and I am pleased with Him. I have put MY Spirit upon Him. 2 He will be gentle – He will not shout or raise His voice in public. 3 He will not crush those who are weak or quench the smallest hope. He will bring full justice to all who have been wronged. 4 He will not stop until truth and righteousness prevail throughout the earth. Even distant lands beyond the sea will wait for HIS instruction.” Isaiah 42:1-4 – GOD will prevail. The chosen Servant, Jesus Christ, reveals a character of gentleness, encouragement, justice, and truth. When we feel broken and bruised by the events happening around us – or just burned out in our spiritual life – GOD will not step on us or toss us aside as useless but will gently pick us up. GOD’s loving attributes are desperately needed in the world we live in today. Through GOD’s Spirit, we can show such sensitivity to people around us, reflecting GOD’s goodness and honesty to them.
Father, we live in evil times. Strengthen us LORD and give us the endurance we need to get through our days, weeks, and months. We ask for healing of our hearts, soul, and minds and also Father healing for our cities, states and nation. Wrap us in YOUR loving presence Father. Reveal YOURSELF to us in mighty ways, in our times of need.
We are thankful Father, that YOU are just and fair. Stop evil doers in their tracks and protect us. Execute YOUR righteousness and justice LORD. We look to you for strength, justice, and fairness, that YOUR truth will not be stopped and that YOUR righteousness will prevail. In the Mighty Name of the LORD Most High!
