35 “Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! 36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so you will continue to do GOD’s will. Then you will receive all that HE has promised. 37 ‘For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. 38 And a righteous person will live by faith. But I will have no pleasure in anyone who turns away.’” ~ Hebrews 10:35-38
This passage in Hebrews encourages us not to abandon our faith in times of persecution but to show by our endurance that our faith is real. Faith means resting in what Christ has done for us in the past, but it also means trusting Him for what He will do for us in the present and in the future. 23“And even we Christians, although we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, also groan to be released from pain and suffering. We, too, wait anxiously for that day when GOD will give us our full rights as HIS children, including the new bodies HE has promised us. 24 Now that we are saved, we eagerly look forward to this freedom. For if you already have something, you do not need to hope for it. 25 But if we look forward to something we do not have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently.” – Romans 8:23-25 – It is natural for children to trust their parents, even though parents sometimes fail to keep their promises. Our heavenly Father, however, never makes promises HE will not keep. Nevertheless HIS plan may take more time than we expect. Rather than acting like impatient children as we wait for GOD’s will to unfold, we must have confidence in GOD’s perfect timing, HIS wisdom and HIS plans for our lives.
We may sometimes wonder if GOD will ever respond to our prayers. But we must never doubt HIM or give up hope. At the right time HE will respond. Are you waiting for GOD’s timing? Trust HIS judgment and trust that HE has your best interests in mind. Turn your fears into faith and then you will see the power of GOD.
Father, as we wait for YOUR most perfect will for our lives to unfold, we are confident in YOUR perfect timing, YOUR wisdom, and YOUR plans for our lives. We will not doubt YOU or give up hope. We place our trust in YOU because we know that YOU, our heavenly Father, has only our best interest in mind. We turn our fears into faith by turning to YOU, Father GOD in prayer. Now, we know we will see YOUR most awesome power at work in our lives.
