9 “Yet, YOU brought me safely from my mother’s womb and led me to trust YOU when I was a nursing infant. 10 I was thrust upon YOU at my birth. YOU have been my GOD from the moment I was born.” Psalm 22:9-10
GOD’s loving concern does not begin on the day we are born and conclude on the day we die. It reaches back to those days before we were born and reaches ahead along the unending path of our eternity. Our only sure help comes from a GOD whose concern for us reaches beyond our earthly existence.
30 “Future generations will also serve HIM. Our children will hear about the wonders of the LORD. 31 HIS righteous acts will be told to those yet unborn. They will hear about everything HE has done.” Psalm 22:30-31 – Unborn generations will depend on our faithfulness today. As we teach our children about the LORD, they will teach their children and their children’s children. If we fail to tell our children about the LORD, we may be breaking the chain of GOD’s influence in generations to come. We must view our children and all the young people we meet as GOD’s future leaders. If we are faithful in opportunities today, we may well be affecting the future of our children and our children’s children. If we want our children to serve the LORD, they must hear about HIM from us. It is not enough to rely on the church or those with more knowledge to provide all their Christian education. We must reinforce the lessons of the Bible in our homes.
Father, YOU have been our GOD from the moment we were born and even before then. Help us LORD, to teach our children the importance of who YOU are and of YOUR love and concern that reaches far beyond our earthly existence. We know Father GOD that it is ultimately up to us to provide our children with Christian knowledge and to reinforce those lessons from the Bible in our homes. Thank YOU, for the wonderful gift of YOUR love that we enjoy through our children.
