30 “For we know the One who said, ‘I will take vengeance. I will repay those who deserve it’. HE also said, ‘The LORD will judge HIS own people.’ 31 It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living GOD.” ~ Hebrews 10:30-31
No, you did not read that verse wrong – “It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living GOD”. This verse is talking about GOD’s judgment and it is for those who have rejected HIS mercy. But, for those who accept Christ’s love and His salvation, the coming judgment is no cause for worry. Being saved through His grace, they have nothing to fear. – “Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of judgment, and this shows that His love has not been perfected in us.” – 1John 4:18 – If we are ever afraid of the future, eternity, or GOD’s judgment, we can remind ourselves of GOD’s love. We know that HE loves us perfectly. – 38 “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from HIS love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can not keep GOD’s love away. 39 Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of GOD that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39 – Paul explains to us that it is impossible to be separated from Christ. His death for us is proof of His unconquerable love. Nothing can separate us from Christ’s presence. GOD tells us how great HIS love is so that we will feel totally secure in HIM. If we believe these overwhelming assurances, we will not be afraid.
When fears creep into our lives, we can resolve them first by focusing on our LORD GOD’s immeasurable love for us, and then by allowing HIM to love others through us. HIS love will quiet our fears and give us confidence.
Thank YOU for YOUR perfect love Father GOD. We know that YOUR love has no fear because through YOUR Son – Jesus Christ – all fear has been expelled. We are convinced that nothing can ever separate us from YOUR love – death can’t, life can’t, the angels can’t, the demons (try as they may) can’t, our worries about tomorrow can’t and even the power of hell can not keep YOUR love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from YOUR love Father GOD which is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. When fears comes into our life, we will resolve them by focusing on YOU LORD and YOUR immeasurable love for us. YOUR love will quiet our fears and give us confidence.
