14 “Because GOD’s children are human beings – made of flesh and blood – Jesus also became flesh and blood by being born in human form. For only as a human being could He die, and only by dying could He break the power of the Devil, who had the power of death. 15 Only in this way could He deliver those who have lived all their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.” ~ Hebrews 2:14-15
Jesus had to become human so that He could die and rise again, in order to destroy the Devil’s power over death. Only then could Christ deliver those who had lived in constant fear of death and free them to live for Him. – 5 “Since we have been united with Him in His death, we will also be raised as He was. 6 Our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. 8 And since we died with Christ, we know we will also share His new life. 9 We are sure of this because Christ rose from the dead, and we will never die again. Death no longer has any power over Him. 10 He died once to defeat sin, and now He lives for the glory of GOD. 11 So you should consider yourselves dead to sin and able to live for the glory of GOD through Christ Jesus”. – Romans 6:5-11 – When we belong to GOD, we need not fear death, because we know that death is only the doorway into eternal life.
3 “I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me – that Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and He was raised from the dead on the third day, as the Scriptures said.” – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 – Christ’s death and resurrection set us free from the fear of death because death has been defeated. Every person must die – but – death is not the end! Instead it is the doorway to a new life. Anyone who dreads death should have the opportunity to know the hope that Christ’s victory brings. – How can you share this truth with those close to you?
Father, because we are made of flesh and blood, we know one day we must die. But, Hallelujah Father GOD, we are YOUR children and because of what YOUR Son – Jesus Christ – has done for us, we will have eternal life in YOUR Kingdom with YOU! Thank You Jesus, for YOUR unselfish and loving sacrifice, for dying and breaking the power of Satan over death! Thank You for delivering us from fear, sin, and death – and giving us eternal life.
